The U.S. government has announced a new travel ban, effective June 9, 2025, restricting entry for citizens of 12 countries: Afghanistan, Myanmar, Chad, the Republic of Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Haiti, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan and Yemen citing national security concerns. Partial restrictions will also apply to travelers from seven additional countries: Burundi, Cuba, Laos, Sierra Leone, Togo, Turkmenistan, and Venezuela. Exemptions include lawful permanent residents, dual nationals with citizenship in unaffected countries, and certain individuals traveling for humanitarian or sporting purposes.
